While a super king-size bed may seem like the ultimate sleeping arrangement, if your bedroom is small it could completely overwhelm the space, leaving very little room for anything else. The most popular frame size is a double, which fits most bedrooms and is suitable for sleeping two people. Also remember to look at space on the walls if you’re considering a poster frame or bed with a head board. Obviously you will need to make sure you won’t be obscuring any windows.

Material

When deciding on what type of material you would like for your bed frame, you should first make sure it is solid and sturdy enough to hold your weight and last for years to come. Once you’ve determined the strength of the material, the choice really comes down to how you envision the design of your bedroom. Steel frames look really nice in an antique style room, whereas a low lying bed frame is more suited to a contemporary, minimalist room.

After taking all of this into consideration, remember that the overall look and feel of the bed is just as important as the specific features. An incredible amount of time is spent in bed, so it should be a sanctuary for you – a place that you enjoy resting your weary body and waking up to in the morning.
